In 1937 Ephraim Ayars decided to go into business for himself in the small town of Stowe Creek. He made his community the primary concern of his little general store. Family values were always the first items stocked on his shelves. Since 1937 your family has always been our priority.               In the last 73 years the business has changed hands and locations. Ephraim passed it on to his son Jack along with his wife, Dorothy, who carried on Ephraim’s ideals in the City of Salem. They served their community well and “Dot”, with the help of her son, Bud, relocated to the town of Alloway in 1966. They also opened another location and began serving the town of Quinton in 1971. We offer a diverse menu of restaurant grade American cuisine ranging from our delicious marinated cheese steaks and lemon butter chicken cheese steaks to our ½ pound Black Angus burgers and freshly cut boardwalk fries. You’ll also find our own specialties such as the Brazilian coxinhas, a chicken and cheese stuffed pastry battered and deep fried, or our Oober Fries, a mountain of fries smothered in a melted lava of cheese and bacon.  Our daily lunch specials are prepared Monday thru Friday by the quick and friendly staff here at Bud’s. We now also deliver from 11 am until 9 pm daily. Delivery is available for any grocery merchandise as well as prepared foods. Gourmet soups are prepared daily September thru May in addition to our famous homemade chicken pot pie every Saturday until the weather gets too hot.     Bud developed a reputation for excellence and a kind heart that he opened to all. In 2002 he left behind a legacy and a great tradition to his family, friends and everyone here at Bud’s Market, Quinton. It is our honor to run the little market this community has taken into its heart. Completely redesigned and renovated, the Metro Diner has revived its landmark Brooklawn location. The new owners have decades of experience in the restaurant business with the Oregon and Penrose Diners in Philadelphia, The StoneGrille Restaurant in Blackwood and the magnificent Lucien’s Manor in Berlin NJ.The Metro was completely overhauled from the main entrance to the dining rooms, bar, bathrooms and throughout the kitchen. The exterior architecture was retained, which was already ahead of its time back in the 1950’s, and combined it with a modern, comfortable feel throughout the interior.The Metro Diner’s focus is on fresh food, impeccable service and unsurpassed cleanliness while offering a fully stocked premium bar and on premise bakery, complete with cheesecakes, cookies, muffins, pies, cake, with special orders for personalized cakes. There are also two separate dining rooms that can be set for up to 150 people and menus that can be catered specifically for your social or business affairs.
